I tried the mitten tongs while making lasagna a few weeks back. They were firm and held the wet noodles without ripping them. The tongs are well made and have a nice heft for holding slippery or heavy items.
I didn’t really have any expectations for this product because it’s so cheap but I really like it and how small and compact it is, I’ve been using it for one year and it looks brand new
I needed some tongs, and came across these while shopping around on Miss A. (Thanks, Miss A, for carrying such an unexpected but also very wonderful assortment of cool stuff!). I read the reviews, which were positive, and thought- why not give these a try?
And I’m so glad I did, because they are amazing! I realize they are only tongs, but when something minor like this, out of the blue, turns out to be such a great little thing, well- I really like that. First, they are super cute. Next, they are well built, even though they are very inexpensive. Third, and most importantly- these kooky little tongs work better than the expensive ones I bought from Amazon! They are more compact, and they don’t keep springing open like the expensive ones keep doing,. I keep finding the silverware drawer jammed halfway shut by something (the expensive tongs that have spontaneously sprung open for some weird reason.) I’m looking forward to *that* not happening anymore. These tongs also have an extremely precise grip, though they don’t look like they would. They can pick up both a tiny shred of onion, or a thick pork chop, with no trouble. And because of their very sturdy silicone tips, there is no heat transfer to the handles, so you don’t have to worry about getting a shock from too-hot tongs.
Yes- I realize I am ranting and raving about tongs, lol, but these things were so unexpectedly awesome I just had to leave a review about them. I’m ordering a back up pair right now, and will be putting my $25 tongs in the hall closet. Give these a try- you won’t be disappointed!
